Job summary

A financial services firm in Edinburgh is seeking an Agile Delivery Manager to lead a Scrum team in delivering product increments efficiently. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using Agile frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban, and a proven track record in mentoring and coaching teams. You will be responsible for managing the Sprint backlog, collaborating on product roadmaps, and driving continuous improvement in agile practices. This role demands strong leadership skills and a passion for Agile principles.

As the Agile Delivery Manager, you are aManagerand true leader who serves the Scrum Team, and larger organisation. You are accountable for the Squad’s effectiveness and outcomes in:

  • Leading the Squad in Sprint delivery; enabling the achievement of the committed value within each product increment and technicallyprioritisedSprint backlog
  • Creating the sprint goal andmaintainingSprint backlog
  • Collaborating with the Product Manager/Owner for building andmaintainingthe Product Roadmap
  • Breaking down the product vision & strategy into tactical execution.

Youare responsible fordriving the removal of impediments & blockers, risks and dependencies enabling the Squad to improve their ways of working and increase thenmaintaintheir ability to deliver quality outcomes with speed and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Align to the role of Scrum Master according to the Scrum Guide.
  • Lead, train and coach theorganisationin its Agile adoption.
  • Provideleadership to the squad to effectively deliver the Product Roadmap, partnering with the Product Manager/Product Owner, Analysts, Developers,Testersand Lead Engineer.
  • Build andmaintainthe technical and business readiness plans to ensure successful delivery of the Product Roadmap and committed value each quarter and sprint.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager/Product Owner on effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.
  • Sustain a focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done.
  • Ensure that BAU change & maintenance is baked into the delivery roadmap.
  • Provide or seek clarity with and for theSquad, to ensure that the why,whatand how is known by all.
  • Works with the squad to check/challenge/encourage their quality & pace throughout the increment & sprint.
  • Ensure that Agile events are positive,productiveand timeboxed andliaiseswith Chapter Leads to create experiments to continuously improve ways of working.
  • Encourage theSquadsunderstanding of the 7IMAgile framework and enable them to their practices.
  • Empower theSquad to self-manage, understand,and use data to support continuous improvement in delivering change and value safely.
  • Effectively manage and track impediments, risks,and dependencies, dissolving them where possible.
  • Enable close collaboration and clear communication with stakeholders and the team.
  • Activelyparticipate, share ideas, and drive improvement in the AgileDelivery Chapter.
  • Manage andintegrateany 3rd party supplier effectively into the Squad delivery and ways of working.
  • While not directly interacting with customers, your actions should align with upholding the FCA's Consumer Duty principles, thereby contributing to fair and beneficial outcomes for our clients.
  • Adherence to all applicable compliance standardsand bepractices at all times.
  • Acting consistentlyin accordance with7IM VPVPs.

About You
Skills
  • Experience of working on workflow and CRM solution deliveries is desirable.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, comfortable offering mentorship, coaching, and leadership both individually and atSquad levels.
  • Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master using Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Use ofPowerBI/ ADO / Jira work management or similar tools to support agile ways of working.
  • Experience ofcollecting and using data to drive team improvement.
  • Confident delivering formal and informal training.
  • A flexible, resilient facilitator, able to explainthe ‘why’.
  • Able tofacilitatesessions to help the team break down complex solutions into smaller, achievable chunks of work.
  • Adept at influencingbehaviourcross-team and cross-discipline without having formalorganisationalhierarchy.
  • Listens to the team and empowers them to tackle challenges.
Qualifications
  • Practical experience working with a software engineering team.

  • This role reports to theHead of Agile Delivery Lead.
  • Must be passionate about Agile principles and enthusiastic to embed them across Transformation and the widerorganisation.
  • A continuous improvement attitude and dedication to finding newwayof working.
