Job summary
A local community service organization in the United Kingdom is seeking volunteers to participate in Christmas calls and visits. Each year, we offer friendly Christmas calls and visits to local people who might otherwise not get an opportunity to spend the holiday with their family and friends. The main purpose of these roles is to reduce isolation and spread some joy during the festive period. It will suit people who are happy to talk on the phone and/or make visits in person, to those who may be feeling lonely at home. It is a rewarding experience as these calls/visits are much appreciated by those who receive them.

This involves having a quick, friendly chat with them and getting a sense of whether they are feeling lonely or isolated leading up to the holidays or in general. It will help us to identify people that may benefit from regular calls from our telephone befrienders and we can continue to support them throughout the year, combating social isolation.
