Healthcare Assistant - Community Diagnostic Centre

This is anexciting opportunity to join the Nimbuscare team in the role of Bank HealthcareAssistant, to support the Nimbuscare team in the delivery of our services at the Community Diagnostics Centre.

Please Note:

This advert will remain open for an extended period due to the festive season, and interviews will be held during the first week of January 2026.

Main duties of the job

The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will provide specific care to a group of patients under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse or allied healthprofessional. The HCA will work in the CDC.

The Healthcare Assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education whilst also supporting the administrative team on an as-required basis.

The Healthcare Assistant will be expected to become proficient and competent in their area of practice by undertaking competency assessments specific to the area of clinical practice. The HCA will promote optimum independence and individualised client centred care to a delegated caseload.

Job responsibilities

Job Title: Healthcare Assistant Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC)

Contract Type: Bank hours

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken may include any or all the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Clinical Lead

To contribute to the on-going assessment of a patient by completing the appropriate documentation.

To undertake, and report back on delegated clinical activities that have previously been signed competent. e.g., observations to include ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, ECG recording and interpretation, venepuncture.

To enable patients/carers to make most effective use of resources within the service by ensuring they receive up-to-date information sheets, responding to any questions constructively.

To pass onto/seek assistance from other colleagues, promptly, any questions that you are unable to resolve.

To assist with general duties appropriate to the clinical area as required.

To use clinical judgement and skills to report any untoward changes in carers or clients health status immediately to the relevant team member, GP, Nurse or emergency services if appropriate.

To plan and implement straightforward tasks and work guided by standard operating procedures and protocols and undertake roles/duties as delegated by a nurse.

Identify and promote best practice

Understand and continually make connections between patient experience, quality, safety and efficiency objectives to ensure the organisation delivers ambitious and sustainable improvement.

Develop excellent relationships with staff at all levels, colleagues, divisional clinical and management teams across primary and community care.
