A major energy company in Hinckley seeks Street Lighting / Power Engineering Cable Jointer Apprentices. This role offers hands-on experience with qualifications in electrical power engineering over four years. Ideal for candidates with GCSEs in relevant subjects and a keen interest in engineering. The apprenticeship includes training in cable jointing, safety protocols, and practical installations.
We're looking for Street Lighting / Power Engineering Cable Jointer Apprentices to join our Lighting & Grid team as part of our UK Energy Infrastructure Solutions business.
Role: Apprentice – Power Engineering Cable Jointing and Street Lighting Installation, Service and Maintenance.

Joining us as an EON Utility Services Apprentice, you’ll be part of a dynamic team contributing to our drive for efficiency and sustainability. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while earning qualifications over a four-year period:
You’ll spend most of your time out and about from your local depot, learning about all technical aspects of Lighting & Grid. You will also attend block release training programs to gain your formal qualifications including courses to provide trade skills such as plant operation and live electrical connections to the underground power distribution network. Learning from experienced professionals and mentors you’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of the power engineering industry as a whole and valuable experience with a major energy solutions company.
This role is hands‑on, so you'll need to be ready to work in site‑based environments including public highway and construction sites.
Applicants must have completed the minimum school‑leaving requirements and be 18 or older, due to the safety‑critical nature of the role.
