Marischal College, Broad Street, Aberdeen

Permanent, Full Time

With effect from 1 April 2023, roles requiring PVG membership will require the candidate to meet the cost of PVG membership. Applies to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. The Council will initially pay the cost (£18 for existing members, £59 for non-members) and deducts from the first month’s salary.

• Bachelor's Degree in civil or structural engineering discipline, or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years post qualification experience in engineering industry (design, maintenance, project management)
• Membership of a relevant professional body or willingness to progress to a recognised professional qualification e.g., IEng or CEng MICE
• Full current UK driving licence

• Strong self‑motivation and self‑starting ability with good organisational skills
• Ability to plan, prioritise, coordinate and deliver projects/processes to meet milestones and deadlines
• Ability to work to and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage a diverse range of projects simultaneously and prioritise conflicting demands
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to provide professional advice and make effective decisions
• Ability to work on own initiative and/or within a team
• Ability to operate computerised systems
• Ability to prepare accurate and concise reports
• Ability to analyse and develop solutions to technical problems
• Ability to prepare detailed design drawings and specifications
• Ability to measure quantities and prepare cost estimates
• Ability to communicate effectively
