Amentum is currently seeking an **DevOps/Application Engineer** as part of a team that delivers the infrastructure for critical applications and development tools running within a secure environment. We are looking for platform engineers to work with the support teams and developers to support our customer. The Apps Support/DevOps Platform Engineer will focus on administrating, maintaining the infrastructure that is used to deliver the services.

Due to the classification of this system, there is no opportunity for remote working and the support team work flexibly to maintain a constant presence during working hours. There are no out‑of‑hours SLA’s associated with this system.

• Management of the Azure DevOps infrastructure
• Plan, coordinate and execute changes and upgrades within the DevOps environment
• Implement automation and optimisation strategies to enhance platform performance
• Create/maintain documentation of the DevOps environment
• Provide first and second‑line support for the DevOps platform
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, application & performance issues
• Escalate complex issues to third‑line support or development teams
• Work closely with other departments and users to resolve complex technical issues
• Continual service improvement to DevOps performance and operational efficiency

• Azure DevOps environment and infrastructure
• Virtual and physical servers (Windows and Linux) and administration of VMware vSphere environment

• DevOps concepts and best practise
• Familiar with Active Directory
• Exposure to Windows and Linux monitoring tools
• Virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper‑V, Docker/Podman)

• Creation and/or administration of DevOps infrastructure
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across application, infrastructure, and networking teams. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent)
