An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bassetlaw Hospital in a varied and rewarding role within the Facilities Department.

Facilities Service Assistant – 27.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7, working between 06:00 – 22:00. Includes weekend and bank holidays. Enhancements for bank holiday and weekend work are offered as part of this role.

• Cleaning duties within the hospital maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
• Physically demanding work involving carrying, lifting and moving items; the role requires a reasonable level of fitness.
• Previous experience desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.

• Demonstrated understanding of the importance of cleaning.
• Understanding of health & safety.
• Experience of teamwork.
• Awareness of Infection Prevention & Control.
• Knowledge of COSHH.
• Customer care skills.

• Clarity in written communication.
• Numeracy and literacy.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience using software systems.

• Evidence of researching the Service Assistant role.
• Previous experience in professional cleaning, catering, portering services or customer service.
• Experience/knowledge of decontamination methods such as hydrogen peroxide vapour or UVA.
