Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the structural design and analysis of public and social infrastructure projects, including schools, hospitals, and utility substations.
  • Develop safe, sustainable, and cost-effective structural solutions in line with Eurocodes, British Standards, and HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) guidance where applicable.
  • Produce detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications using software such as Tekla, TEDDS, or Robot.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, MEP consultants, and civil engineers, to ensure integrated and compliant designs.
  • Conduct structural inspections and assessments of existing public buildings, advising on remedial works and structural upgrades.
  • Support the design of substation control buildings and enclosures, ensuring resilience and safety for critical infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical reports, design risk assessments, and method statements for planning and construction phases.
  • Attend site visits and stakeholder meetings, providing technical input and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal CPD and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
