A local council organization is seeking an Education & Events Officer in Taunton. This role involves providing vital administrative support to the Education and Events team, taking charge of event scheduling, and managing webinars. Ideal candidates will have strong organisational and communication skills and experience in event administration. Hours of work: 37 per week (Monday – Friday)
Salary: SCP 7 – 12 £26,403 – £28,598 Plus Local Government Pension Scheme
Location: Hybrid (one day per month at SLCC headquarters in Taunton)
The job holder will be a member of the Education and Events team, providing administrative support to both the Conference Manager and the Education Manager. Using existing and supporting the development of best practice systems and processes, the jobholder will ensure these two functions operate efficiently and effectively, and that the good reputation of the SLCC as well as our members are always well served.
As a small organisation, our group of officers work together across the wider organisation to provide support to each other and all functions, for example, members and the public have access to SLCC via telephones, email, and our website. Our phones are operated from 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, and 09:00 – 16:30 on Fridays, with our officers working together to speedily answer calls and resolve issues. In doing so, our officers build a good understanding of the work undertaken across our organisation.
The overall purpose of the role of the Education & Events Officer is to support the Conference Manager and Education Manager in carrying out their functions, and in particular:
