Head of Strategic Campaigns

Apply to join Leonardo's growing Electronic Warfare Sales and Business Development team as the Head of Strategic Campaigns.

Job Description

Leonardo is a global high‑tech company and a key player in Aerospace, Defence and Security. Headquartered in Italy, the company has over 45,000 employees, 7,000 of whom are based in the UK. Leonardo leads the design, supply and support of integrated airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions. The Electronics UK Business Unit develops products and solutions for air, land and maritime platforms that include mission systems, radars, sensors, EW systems, on‑board avionics, communications, air‑launched effects and support solutions.

The Head of Strategic Campaigns reports to the VP Sales of the Electronic Warfare Line of Business. The role is responsible for securing forecast order targets by managing a portfolio of campaigns and sales opportunities and leading a team of Campaign Managers.

Primary markets are the Air Domain within the UK, US and NATO‑aligned Defence markets.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Lead a team of campaign managers to secure order intake to meet forecast targets.
  • Identify, create and validate future sales opportunities.
  • Lead Integrated Campaign teams using indirect and direct management skills to drive and coordinate pursuit activity and deliver innovative and competitive proposals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, end users and industrial partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including regional and divisional marketing, the capability function and other Leonardo lines of business.
  • Utilise internal procedures to identify, track and report opportunities accurately through active Capture Plans.
  • Effectively manage and utilise the Business Winning budget by bidding for and managing the spending of funds required to prosecute campaigns.
  • Provide input and general support for communication events such as exhibitions, demonstrations and conferences.
  • Demonstrate relevant sector experience and commercial knowledge, especially the value of EW and air platforms.
  • Self‑starter, highly motivated and able to set short and long‑term planning goals aligned with campaign and business needs.
  • Experience with export campaigns, international customers and influence of UK MOD to support UK Defence exporters.
  • Output oriented with focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals.
  • Ideally significant experience developing, managing and leading key sales or strategic campaigns within the defence or comparable sectors.
Security Clearance

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional Personnel Security Controls, such as National Security Vetting (NSV), may apply, including eligibility for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
