Job description

Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Company: Enactor (www.enactor.co )
Location: Hertford, United Kingdom Job Title: Presales Consultant
Reports to: Director of Global Sales Sector: Enterprise Retail Software
Requirement: Previous experience of Presale experience in Retail IT, or a related Industry, at least 5 years Salary: To Be advised based on fit with a role

Enactor is a suite of world-class retail applications for tier 1 and middle-tier retailers which span customer channels including POS, mobile, kiosk, self-checkout and online, and includes retail store and estate management and a technology platform.

We offer a new and process-based development toolset as part of our application suites. Using the Enactor toolset, business events and actions are understood and managed as processes across the enterprise – represented visually. Our smart design tools and reusable functional libraries mean that application development becomes simply a drag-and-drop exercise.

Role Description

In this pivotal role you will be tasked with conveying the value of the Enactor Solution to prospective and existing clients, to achieve business objectives and resolve business issues. You will be involved in all areas of pre-sales from initial contact through to project initiation and responsibilities will include tasks such as Requests for Information, requirement gathering & demonstrations. Specifically, you will demonstrate how the components of the Enactor solution are used, and how they can be configured to meet the client’s requirements. You will be working as part of the Sales and Marketing team; direct contact with prospective and current clients is a key aspect of the role.

You will also liaise with our development resources in the UK and Sri Lanka to work on enhancements to the demonstration solutions, and to obtain resolution to any issues identified. In certain cases, where development activities may be required before a demonstration, you may be asked to assist with the documentation of a functional specification and work directly with the development team.

Once a deal has been won, you will assist with the handover of the client to the delivery teams, explaining all the key information, such as infrastructure constraints or functional requirements, that we have assembled during the engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of retail business processes with a focus on store commerce and supporting activities. The candidate should be comfortable working in a technical environment alongside technical resources.

Typical responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrating the Enactor solution, showcasing its abilities and ways it can be used in line with requirements both onsite and via remote sessions. Also sharing practical experiences in delivering Enactor with prospects and existing customers to demonstrate both our and our partners’ credibility and expertise.
  • Generating product demonstration scripts and scenarios and maintaining demonstration environments.
  • Delivering presentations and demonstrations to prospective and current clients.
  • Supporting responses to Request for Information/Proposal documents.
  • Staying current on product developments/releases to a level required for demo and product knowledge.
  • Liaising with those developing products/services to gain an in-depth knowledge that you can relate to customers – and to let them in on user behaviour and/or any potential changes clients would like.
  • Helping the sales team to reach targets.
  • Conducting research into the industry – including competitor research.
