Job summary
A start-up anti-bullying charity is seeking a volunteer Lawyer to provide legal guidance on charity law, employment law, and criminal law. You will play a crucial role in supporting the charity's mission and helping victims of bullying and harassment. Ideal candidates should have a strong advocacy background and a passion for anti-bullying efforts. This is a home-based role, preferably for someone located in London.
Qualifications
- Qualified and practising in the UK.
- Experience in contract law.
- Understanding of the UK Charities Framework.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear and practical advice on Charity legislation.
- Assist in dispute resolution.
- Support potential victims of bullying.

An exciting opportunity for a volunteer with a start-up anti-bullying charity; support us internally and potentially externally with victims of bullying and harassment. What difference will you make? With your help, we want to be the "go-to" charity for anti-bullying. We want to ensure that we stay within the legal framework for charities and also provide, where needed, the legal advice and direction where we can.
Ideally we are looking for someone with
- Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with rights of audience;
- Criminal law with experience or focus on anti-bullying and anti-harassment
- Charity law
- Employment law
- General Commercial
- Good, recent advocacy, drafting and negotiation experience;
- Good communicator;
- Can work on your own initiative and as part of a team;
- Provide practical advice;
- Passion for our cause and mission
Background in Charity Law, Employment Law, General Commercial, Criminal Law. We need you to be specialised in one or more of the above areas.
- You must be qualified and practising in the UK
- We need help with contract law
- With legal compliance and policies
- Provide us with an understanding of the position of legality regarding our policies and procedures with regards to the UK Charities Framework
- Provide clear and practical advice and guidance on Charity legislation
- Assist in providing advice in the event of a dispute in order that we find a resolution
- Provide us with clear and practical advice with regards to bullying and harassment
- Where called on to support potential victims by supporting us to provide advice and direction for the victim
- Any other Ad Hoc request
- Location: Home-based, but ideally located in the London area in order to have face to face discussions in the future.
Working with you will work with our CEO, Policy Team, and HR department.
