Job summary
A leading consultancy firm in the UK is seeking a System Integration Engineer to work with a defence client on a contractual basis. The successful candidate will integrate communication systems, support architecture development, and engage in testing and debugging. Ideal applicants will have strong systems integration experience, particularly in radio communication systems, along with a problem-solving mindset. Eligibility for security clearance is preferred.

Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a System Integration Engineer to work at a leading defence client of ours on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will work as a core integration resource within a lab‑based development environment, playing a crucial role in systems integration, communication systems engineering and networking.
- Integrating hardware and software components into highly technical communication systems.
- Support the Architects in creating the system Architecture and lower-level system and sub‑system designs.
- Develop and integrate communication systems against designs.
- Perform unit testing and debugging in support of verification and validation.
- Support the testing teams in defining appropriate Tests.
- Collaborating with wider project and engineering stakeholders to realise requirements into solutions.
- A strong background in systems integration and solutions engineering, which includes the integration, development, testing, and verification of both software and hardware solutions.
- Previous integration experience related to radio or tactical communication systems, for example including HF, UHF and VHF bandings.
- Experience in the application of TCP/IP Networking fundamentals to support network‑focused communication plans.
- A background in the defence sector would be highly desirable.
- Experience with Windows or Linux‑based management systems.
- Integration and testing of plugins and applications into system designs.
- Previous experience in utilising workflow systems such as Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to provide input to technical publications and design documentation.
- An excellent problem‑solving mindset, and working in a fast‑paced collaborative environment.
- Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
