An exciting opportunity has arisen for a New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Product Assurance team as they provide professional quality support to the Manufacturing team in the UK across all NPI Programs.
Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: Minimum 3 days per week on-site.
Security Clearance: British Citizen. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) after offer.

Responsibilities
- Provide independent visibility and assurance that manufacturing and related processes are correctly applied across all NPI programs.
- Support and advise on all aspects of quality within New Product Introduction.
- Identify and implement sustainable process improvements.
- Assist in reducing project risk or problem areas associated with process application, effectiveness or compliance.
- Support Manufacturing UK on all NPI programmes to achieve cost, time and quality targets.
- Apply quality expertise to critical business issues to support business excellence, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and deliver quality awareness and training.
- Confirm through independent assessments and audits that processes and quality requirements are implemented, applied and improved; provide reports to management.
- Maintain strong links with QA colleagues across MBDA (UK and overseas) to achieve quality objectives.
- Work with Product Assurance Managers and other functions to define risk reduction strategies and action plans.
- Advising on the use of SAP as non‑conformance management tool and identify SAP improvements.
- Facilitate and support non‑conformance review panels.
- Analyze non‑conformance defect data and conduct investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company BMS requirements.
- Support DFMEAs and PFMEAs for NPI products.
- Support lessons‑learnt activities and integrate outcomes into future programs.
- Provide appropriate input to Design and Product Guide Reviews.
Qualifications
- Minimum HNC/HND in a related subject.
- Quality professional with experience in process‑based integrated management systems and business improvement in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with risk management and practical problem‑solving tools such as 8D, 5Y, PFMEA.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Quality auditing experience.
- Knowledge of EN/AS9100.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, planning and organization.
- Ability to identify sustainable business improvements and implement effectively.
- Strong communication and influence skills at all levels.
- Highly self‑motivated and determined to deliver results.
- Understanding of regulatory and certification requirements.
- Desirable: Understanding of AS9145 APQP/PPAP and AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements.
Location and Travel
Position is based in Stevenage but will regularly support manufacturing teams at other MBDA sites, including Bolton and Henlow. Travel within the UK and internationally will be required.
