Legal Cashier: SRA-Compliant Finance Specialist
Job summary
A prominent legal firm in Basingstoke is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to ensure accurate financial management of client and office accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency in legal accounting software. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the Finance Team's success in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Legal Cashier or in a similar finance role within a law firm.
- Strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in legal accounting software and Excel.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Manage all client and office account transactions in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules.
- Post incoming and outgoing payments promptly and accurately.
- Reconcile client bank account daily and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor client ledger balances and ensure funds are dealt with appropriately.
- Ensure VAT is recorded and applied correctly in line with HMRC requirements.
- Prepare and process bank payments, CHAPS, and BACS transfers.
