A regional healthcare trust is seeking a Tobacco Dependency Advisor to promote smoking cessation among expectant mothers. The role includes providing tailored stop smoking support in a flexible manner, collaborating with healthcare professionals and ensuring adherence to Trust policies. Candidates should have a Level 3 Healthcare qualification and an understanding of evidence-based practices in smoking cessation. The position offers development opportunities and comprehensive support from recruitment to joining the team.

This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to stop smoking. It focuses on engaging with people in all maternity settings and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals whilst supporting them to make positive health changes that will improve pregnancy, birth outcomes and longer‑term family health.
The post holder will work with the tobacco dependency team to achieve element 1 of the Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle and reduce smoking in pregnancy by providing individualised stop smoking support to women and families in a flexible and innovative way. As a smoke free champion across the Trust, you will provide information, advice and support to patients and staff alike on stopping smoking, minimising harm from tobacco and health‑related issues in line with best guidance and protocols. You will be involved in awareness raising sessions in the Trust, reinforcing the training provided to staff to reduce harm from tobacco and the promotion of our Trust smoke free policy.
