Job summary

A leading construction company in Manchester seeks ambitious Graduate Civil Engineers to join their team. This role offers an incredible start to your career, with a 15-month development program designed to provide industry-leading training and qualifications. Candidates should have a minimum 2:1 in Civil Engineering and good communication and teamwork skills. The selected individual will assist in various aspects of project delivery while ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • No more than 12 months’ work experience.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in specification and procurement for project delivery.
  • Coordinate electrical distribution systems requirements across construction sites.
  • Ensure compliance with safety systems of work.
  • Ensure electrical commissioning and fault-finding on relevant machinery.
  • Maintain records of inspections and maintenance.
  • Support management of subcontractors for electrical works.

Role Requirements
  • Assisting in specification, procurement, implementation and safe operations of all electrical systems required for project delivery
  • Coordinate electrical distribution systems requirements across all relevant construction sites.
  • Enabling compliance with safe systems of work
  • Ensuring electrical commissioning and fault‑finding on relevant machinery and equipment
  • Ensuring MSVs electrical commissioning and fault‑finding
  • Maintain all records of inspections and maintenance (planned & unplanned)
  • Participating & supporting in implementation of a planned preventive maintenance scheme and oversee the spare parts management, including the correct stock level of electrical consumables, etc.
  • Support in the management of specialist subcontractors undertaking electrical works on site
  • Support in implementation of the electrical operating safety procedures, including safe systems of work, risk assessments & method statements and task briefings associated with electrical distribution
