A community sports club in London is seeking a Fundraising Officer to manage and develop fundraising activities aimed at attracting additional revenue through sponsorships, grants, and donations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, at least three years of fundraising experience, and the ability to inspire and maintain relationships with supporters. The role requires flexibility, including occasional weekend and evening work, and adherence to organizational policies.
Chelsea Handball Club is spreading the benefits of sport to diverse local groups in an inclusive manner. We need help with our fundraising efforts to enable us diversify our income and offer more for less to our community members.
Our Vision is to become the community club of choice in London, where everyone gets active via the Sport of Handball. We want to carry on activities which benefit the community and encourage, foster and develop Handball in all its forms amongst all ages and sections of our community. For many of the people we serve, one of the primary blockers in entering team sports is the associated cost. This blocker was further exacerbated by the pandemic and the recent cost‑of‑living crisis towards the financially disadvantaged social groups. To sustain our participation and further expand it in the future, we need to ensure that we can offer more with asking our most vulnerable members to pay less or, ideally, participate for free.
The role of the Fundraising Officer is to attract and retain club revenue, additional to membership fees, that is generated via sponsorships, grants and donations (individual and crowdfunding) by managing, supporting and developing imaginative fundraising activities.
The post‑holder will be expected to adhere to all organisational policies, including health and safety.
The role requires a willingness to work variable hours which will include occasional weekend and evening work.
The post‑holder will be accountable to the Secretary.
