What you'll do

This is a really exciting challenge for an Electrical Technician to be a part of a high performing and dedicated Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation (EM&I) team to cover our water recycling centres across the Salisbury, Gillingham, Shaftesbury and Warminster areas.

As the Electrical Technician, you will join the EM&I team, carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance work, including some small installation projects on our water recycling centres. You will be required to take responsibility for ensuring the effective operation of plant, machinery and equipment, as well as carrying out fault finding, fault diagnosis and fault resolution. Your experience and decision making will be second to none, as you will confidently seek to make continuous improvements across the area.

In this position you will be required to have a can‑do attitude and a flexible approach to work, you will be working with a wide variety of products and equipment. Whilst performing in your role, you will have ongoing opportunities to develop your skill set and knowledge, which can include formal/in‑house training which could lead to progressing into field support and PLC programming.

We are looking for someone who can work flexibly and effectively with minimal supervision. You will also be required to participate in an out‑of‑hours standby rota covering the larger patch including, Taunton and Yeovil.

What you'll need

To be successful in this role, we are seeking a time‑served Electrical Technician who is competent in three‑phase and single‑phase power and control systems. It is essential that candidates applying for the role, hold City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or a time‑served Electrical Apprenticeship. Formal mechanical training (dual‑skilled) is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate would also need to have excellent health and safety awareness and IT literacy.

To be considered for this role you must hold a valid UK driving licence, as there will be regular travel around various sites within our region.

This is a Monday to Friday role, but standby cover will be required for evenings and weekends on a rota basis, which equates to an availability payment of around £1,950 per year, plus a performance bonus of up to 5% of your salary and overtime available.

A company van and all the tools and training you will need to complete your role will be provided.

What you'll receive
  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
