Job summary
A leading energy consultancy is seeking an SC Cleared AWS DevOps Engineer for a remote role. The successful candidate will join a high-performing team focused on building and optimising secure, cloud-native platforms in a complex public sector environment. Key responsibilities include managing AWS infrastructure, automating configuration management, and supporting CI/CD pipelines. Candidates must have strong AWS experience, familiarity with Terraform and Ansible, and a solid background in UNIX/Linux administration. The contract is for 6 months at a rate of £450 per day.
Qualifications
- Strong AWS experience within enterprise or public sector environments.
- Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Experience with Ansible (Core, Tower or AAP).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- CI/CD pipeline creation and management (GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins).
- Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Strong UNIX/Linux administration skills with Windows OS exposure.
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability tooling.
- Must be SC Cleared.
Responsibilities

We’re supporting a major government transformation programme within a public sector environment and are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing delivery team. This is a hands‑on role focused on building, automating and optimising secure, cloud‑native platforms in a complex enterprise setting.
You’ll be embedded within a multi‑disciplinary engineering team, helping to design, build and support scalable AWS infrastructure and containerised services. This role requires someone comfortable operating across the DevOps lifecycle, from infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline design through to platform optimisation, observability and operational support.
You’ll play a key role in improving automation, deployment reliability and platform resilience across critical public‑facing services.
- Design, build, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform
- Automate configuration management using Ansible (Core, Tower or AAP)
