A leading publishing company in London is seeking a Sales Executive to support the Open Market sales team and act as a point of contact for customers. The role entails administrative support and requires experience in an office environment, customer service knowledge, and a passion for books. This position offers a hybrid working model, competitive benefits including healthcare and training opportunities.
The Sales Executive position will provide higher level admin support to the Open Market sales team and act as a point of contact for our customers. This role will cover the HarperCollins Children’s Books, HarperFiction, HarperNonFiction, William Collins & 4th Estate, Harlequin and Farshore divisions. The role covers the Europe, Middle East, Asia, Caribbean and Latin American markets. There is also direct account sales support for Africa, Pakistan and parts of Europe this includes day-to-day contact with customers in these markets and active selling of key titles to the regions.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to their second job role in publishing, build commercial sales knowledge and gain exposure to multiple publishing divisions. This role will also be attending book fairs and supporting across wider sales-based projects from time to time, this may include travel.
Sales administration including answering customer queries and liaising with Customer Services
Work on bespoke internal systems relating to processing orders and prices, the raising and payment of marketing spend (including maintenance of the budget grid)
Running subscription and sales reports
Provide support for Sales Managers and acting as the second point of contact for customers both in the UK and overseas
Internal support for meetings with key stakeholders, providing monthly sales figures and managing marketing spend budgets
Work with European Sales Manager on provision of material for customer trade catalogues.
Point of contact and overseeing event/author orders
Point of contact for US colleagues on shared publishing
Assisting with preparations and planning for London Book Fair and Frankfurt Book fair
Experience of working within an office environment
Knowledge or experience of customer service practices
Experience of learning and adapting to new systems
Interest and passion for books and keen to develop knowledge of the industry
Process driven

Communication skills both written and verbal
