Job description
ADM - Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship 2026

Location: Birmingham, London, Manchester, Woking

Intake: September

About the job you’re considering

We are looking for individuals with a genuine enthusiasm for technology who want to start their career in the IT industry.

You will be joining the Applications Development and Maintenance practice working for a wide variety of clients across a large range of sectors from the public sector to retail, insurance and defence. You will build strong team and client relationships, support growth, innovation, and continuous service improvement.

Hybrid working: This role is hybrid working meaning you will predominantly work from home but will be expected to attend the office regularly for meetings and team events. You can attend the office daily if you wish. You will need to be based within a commutable distance of one of our main offices (Birmingham, London, Manchester, Woking) and may be asked to work on client site for part of the week depending on the client.

Your role

As an Applications Consultant within the ADM (Applications Development & Maintenance) practice, you will develop technical skills to support and enhance clients’ business applications, contributing to activities such as incident resolution, application enhancements, testing, and documentation. You will work within established delivery frameworks like Agile, ITIL, and Product‑centric approaches, advising clients on maximising application value.

Depending on your strengths and business needs, you may specialise as either a functional consultant (for example, HR, Finance, or Supply Chain) or as a technical application consultant, working with technologies such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, AWS Cloud, Azure Cloud, and Java. Regardless of specialism you will engage with leading‑edge cloud and AI technologies, have ongoing access to world‑class industry training and certifications, and be actively encouraged to pursue industry‑standard qualifications to support your professional growth—all while consistently maintaining high delivery standards and best practices.

Why choose an apprenticeship with Capgemini?

The degree apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University is a 3-year course in which you will study part‑time alongside your full‑time role. You’ll have an initial 10‑week bootcamp on campus. You will cover many modules such as “System Analysis and Design”, “Database Administration and Security” and “Introduction to Computer Networks and Security”. The degree includes a final stage project in conjunction with Capgemini’s business.

During your first week, you will meet inspiring individuals, witness our team dynamics, and explore the stimulating projects that will influence your career. We are committed to supporting all our apprentices in developing their personal brand and exploring innovative thinking methods that will drive the solutions we deliver to our clients.

Join us as an apprentice and you’ll have a permanent paid role with opportunities to increase your pay year‑on‑year alongside studying for a degree. You’ll play a pinnacle part of our inclusive and fair culture, where you can thrive in a role in one of the world’s most ethical companies and freely showcase your individuality. You’ll have responsibility from day one and be a part of a team where your opinions matter.

Your skills and experience

To be eligible, you need:

  • To be living and working in England
  • 7 GCSEs including Maths and English grades 4-9

Plus, one of the following:

  • 3 A*-C at A-level (NOTE: AS Levels are not included)
  • Completed Advanced Apprenticeship
  • BTEC (Pass, Pass, Distinction minimum)
Your Clearance

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre‑employment checks, including identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).

To be eligible to apply for SC clearance the successful applicant must have resided continuously in the UK for the last five years with no more than 28 consecutive days out of the country, along with other criteria and requirements.

Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.

Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.

Get the Future You Want - what does it mean for you?

Shape your path – You will be empowered to explore, innovate, and progress. You will benefit from Capgemini’s ‘learning for life’ mindset, meaning you will have countless training and development opportunities from thinktanks to hackathons, and access to 250,000 courses with numerous external certifications from AWS, Microsoft, Harvard ManageMentor, Cybersecurity qualifications and much more.

Impactful Experiences – You will reimagine what’s possible: creating value for the world’s leading organisations through technology to build a sustainable, more inclusive future.

Capgemini is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme. As part of our commitment to inclusive recruitment, we will offer an interview to all candidates who:

  • Declare they have a disability, and
  • Meet the minimum essential criteria for the role.

Growing clients’ businesses while building a more sustainable, more inclusive future is a tough ask. When you join Capgemini, you’ll join a thriving company and become part of a collective of free‑thinkers, entrepreneurs and industry experts. We find new ways technology can help us reimagine what’s possible. It’s why, together, we seek out opportunities that will transform the world’s leading businesses, and it’s how you’ll gain the experiences and connections you need to shape your future. By learning from each other every day, sharing knowledge, and always pushing yourself to do better, you’ll build the skills you want. You’ll use your skills to help our clients leverage technology to innovate and grow their business. So, it might not always be easy, but making the world a better place rarely is.
