This role allows you to represent your peers on the Country Committee, guiding the strategic direction of the National Lottery Community Fund. As a member, you'll leverage your understanding of youth needs and decision-making skills to influence funding that tackles poverty and promotes equity. Could you help decide how National Lottery money supports communities?
As the largest funder of community activity in the UK, we’re trusted to turn money raised by players of the National Lottery into game-changing grants across the UK. Working within and alongside communities, we respond to their unique needs and opportunities, keeping our decision-making local. We are determined to focus on areas of greatest need, meeting communities where they are and helping to tackle poverty, disadvantage, and discrimination.
Country Committees help shape the strategic direction of The National Lottery Community Fund, focusing on four missions: supporting communities to connect, supporting environmentally sustainable communities, enabling children and young people to thrive, and enabling healthier lives. The primary role for Committee members is to use their knowledge and strategic thinking to guide the Fund, make decisions on large funding applications, and serve as ambassadors for the Fund.
This is an exciting time of renewal following the launch of our new strategy, ‘It starts with community’, setting a new direction to 2030. We are committed to helping children and young people thrive by involving them in decisions that affect them and their communities. Therefore, we seek 18-30-year-olds who bring a broad range of knowledge, skills, and lived and learned experiences as young people in today’s society.
