Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join our expanding team at KR Group in Newburgh, Aberdeenshire.

We are looking for a Yardsperson/Forklift Driver who has experience driving a forklift/using powered machinery.

This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week).

The ideal candidate will manage the offloading, mark-up and storage of KR Group deliveries to the yard; support the KR Group lorry driver as required; maintain the yard by responding to requests for odd jobs, keeping area tidy and provide general labouring as required.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Overseeing the loading and offloading of goods in a safe manner.
  • Support the KR Group lorry driver to prepare for and make deliveries, as required.
  • Keep yard tidy and well maintained.
  • Assist with workshop duties as needed (e.g., grinding, punching steel, etc.).
  • General labouring (on site and across projects).
  • Ensure maintenance of forklift/truck/machinery, reporting defects when they come up.
  • Assisting the plant engineer with light duties.
  • Operating machinery where required (e.g. forklift, side loader, fabricating equipment).
  • Ensuring containers and units are sorted, well organised and goods are categorised.
  • Create and maintain inventories for fixtures and fixings (cladding) to ensure stock is maintained and controlled (i.e., using what we have on site as far as possible prior to ordering new).
  • Help with the KRBON Reduction division, controlling stock for website updates and storing goods, etc.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure health and safety processes and procedures are adhered to.
  • Safe use of operating equipment.
  • Manage logistics of deliveries coming in and out.
  • Ensure waste management strategies are followed across yard and sites.
  • Communicate with team, customers, suppliers and all external bodies in a clear, positive and professional manner.
  • Actively promote our products, services, values and messaging so customers buy into our brand.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, adapting working practices when required to ensure maximum productivity and efficiencies.
  • Utilise our systems fully to ensure accurate input and reporting.
  • Demonstrate awareness and responsibility for the safety of self and others.
  • Attend, participate, capture and complete assigned actions in all relevant meetings.
  • Contribute to the general running and development of the business.
  • Keep workspace, documentation and filing organised and tidy.
  • Take pride in our facilities, ensuring they are kept safe, clean and tidy at all times.
  • Carry out any other duties deemed necessary for the business.

  • Additonally, the ideal candidate is able to identify when issues arise, and can work on implementing solutions.
  • GSVG in construction related course or equivalent industry/warehouse experience.
  • A passion for continual improvement – developing new processes and practices to stay up to date with technological developments, and improve efficiency/safety.
