A technology cooperative seeks a WordPress and/or front-end developer to manage a list of freelancers and collaborate with partner organisations. Ideal candidates will have a few years of experience and basic PHP knowledge. The role offers flexible freelance work with a preference for local talent but also open to remote collaboration.
We do this by regularly checking-in with these organisations about their capacity needs and maintaining a list of freelancers that want to work with them. You can join our list of freelancers here. We’ll contact you every 2 weeks to confirm your availability for work. Before connecting you with an organisation we will verify your skills and “cooperativeness” in a call with one of our friendly Sepheo Stewards. If you have any questions, please ask them in the topic, or we can arrange a call over private message with @KingMob.
We need a Wordpress and/or front-end focused developer. Ideally, a full stack developer who can work with both Drupal and WordPress, but the main focus is WordPress. We are open to short-term project-based freelance work or someone joining our Coop longer term after we determine fit. We are building with WordPress and Drupal as needed; there are a couple of small jobs and one large job starting over the next month or two, all WordPress.
Ideal candidates have at least a couple of years of experience (not a beginner) and basic PHP knowledge (i.e., not exclusively front end). Other intangible qualities can be as important as technical skills.
Location considerations include a preference for a developer local to Colchester who can work in the Creative Coop office with our design team, but remote collaboration with a North Yorkshire-based developer is also acceptable to help us ramp up.
If you know someone, please send details to me or have them email hello@creative.coop. If they want to see examples of our work, they can visit https://creative.coop.
We have some developer capacity at the moment, and most developers have a fair amount of WordPress experience. We’ve worked with other coops in various ways—partnerships vs outsourcing. Also Autonomic do WordPress work and might be worth a chat with.
Thanks for your reply. We’re talking to a local developer today, but the general theme is that everyone is busy and even people unhappy in their current jobs don’t want to risk leaving at this time. We may reach out as we discuss options and consider next steps, and we’ll keep Autonomic in mind as well.
Thanks again
Alan
