Qualifications

  • Experience in one-to-one or small group support for students facing difficulties.

£24,535 - £27,621 based on an FTE of £28,561 - £32,154 per annum

39 weeks per year (Term Time only)

About the Role
  • This role plays an important part in supporting students’ wellbeing and safeguarding at Hartpury University. You will be a key contact for students experiencing personal or social challenges, including those with BESD, Looked After Children, Care Leavers, and Young Carers.
  • The work involves providing one-to-one and group support, helping students navigate university processes, and working closely with staff, families, and external agencies.
  • You will also help deliver wellbeing workshops, resilience activities, and events such as WellFest.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation is essential, as you will be involved in referrals and multi-agency meetings.
  • This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference to students’ lives and help them feel supported throughout their time at Hartpury.
About You
  • You will bring a solid foundation of relevant qualifications, including GCSEs in Mathematics and English and a Level 3 Youth Support or IAG qualification, alongside a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification or a willingness to complete this.
  • You have experience working one-to-one or with small groups of students facing behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties, and you understand the realities of college and university life.
  • You are confident working within a multi-agency environment and building effective partnerships with education and social care professionals.
  • Strong listening and counselling skills, along with the ability to empathise and support students in challenging situations, are essential.
  • You will be highly motivated, committed to promoting student wellbeing and resilience, and able to handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion.
