Job description

As a Weighbridge Operator based at Escrick, North Yorkshire, you will be responsible for accurately weighing and recording al l vehicles entering and leaving the site, ensuring full compliance with company and regulatory procedures.

The Role

You will work closely with drivers, transport teams, and site management to maintain safe, efficient , and environmentally responsible operations. This is a full-time position(47.5 hours per week) requiring a detail-oriented individual with excel lent communication and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the weighbridge system, ensuring accurate vehicle weighing and data recording.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle details, load types, and weights in line with company procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with drivers and site staff to ensure smooth traffic flow and compliance with site rules.
  • Support and manage vehicle movements in accordance with traffic management procedures.
  • Ensure that al l paperwork and digital records are completed correctly and filed promptly.
  • Liaise with waste management operations to ensure al l documentation complies with environmental regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area around the weighbridge.
  • Report any equipment faults or operational issues immediately.
  • Uphold company standards on health, safety, and environmental performance always.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience working in traffic management (essential).
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with drivers and colleagues.
  • Computer literate and confident using weighbridge or data entry systems.
  • Experience in waste management operations (preferred).
  • WAMITAB Weighbridge Certificate – desirable but not essential.
  • First Aid trained – desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Good understanding of site health and safety requirements.
  • Previous weighbridge or similar operational experience is advantageous.
