A Brief Overview

RGA is looking for an individual with strong analytical and leadership skills to support the Bermuda Chief Valuation Officer with data, models, and insight to enhance reporting capabilities. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Bermuda capital reporting including SBA requirements.

What you will do
  • Serve as subject matter expert to RGA Bermuda’s Chief Valuation Officer on data sources and reporting optimization

  • Lead BSCR reporting for two Bermudan Class E legal entities including LLSBA and BMA consultation paper support

  • Deliver Day X solvency reporting for executive leadership

  • Build dashboards including solvency metrics to support quarterly reporting, board material and solvency/risk committees

  • Collaborate with Chief Pricing Officer to monitor capital impacts for new transaction pipeline and with local pricing teams as BSCR SME

  • Collaborate with Chief Risk Officer to enhance and maintain Own Capital Model and CISSA

  • Collaborate and provide actuarial oversight on Legal Entity Liability CFs for BMA requirements including SBA analysis, maintenance and application

  • Migrate and automate data workflows with snowflake/dbt and Power BI to align with RGA’s Enterprise Data Platform

  • Liaise with ALM, Operations, Finance and Valuation colleagues to support Bermuda initiatives

  • Perform ad-hoc research or data aggregation to support BMA consultation papers

  • Overall accountability for multiple actuarial reporting bases i.e. US GAAP, EBS,

  • Including Technical Provisions under SBA

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 6 years of Valuation experience. 10 years of relevant actuarial experience

  • Must be a Fellow of a relevant Actuarial Professional Body (e.g. IFoA, SOA)

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge and complex information.

  • Advanced ability to recognize and articulate process improvement opportunities and capability gaps.

  • Proven Ability to adapt to changing circumstances

  • Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with departmental goals and objectives.

  • Advanced ability to collaborate and liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.

  • Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into implementable specifications and support the implementation of technical and business solutions.

  • Advanced understanding of reinsurance concepts and methods

Preferred
  • Bermuda re/insurance industry knowledge

  • Reinsurance Corporate structure and legal entity flow knowledge

  • EBS and BSCR expertise

  • SBA experience

  • Ability to manage life actuarial team and possess strong leadership skills

  • Able to plan long term deliverables and ensure tasks are planned and timely reporting of quarterly results.

  • Must have the ability to communicate in a constructive manner to all stakeholders including the Board and Senior management

  • Ability to work collaboratively with different functions internally and externally.
