Maltby Learning Trust has a vacancy for a Local Governor to join the Academy Education Committee at Maltby Academy within the Trust. Governors are volunteers who have an interest in improving outcomes for children and young people and promoting high standards of educational achievement.

Academy Education Committees consist of a range of people who all bring different skills to the Committee. These include Staff Governors, Parent/Carer Governors, Community Governors, Business/Education Governors and the Principal. As a committee you receive information and reports related to the Academy.

Meetings are scheduled in the evenings and the dates are set a year in advance. Meetings generally last for 2 hours and there is one meeting per term.

You can find out more about Governance on our website - www.maltbylearningtrust.com/governance. Training will be available for the role.

Maltby Learning Trust already has a strong team of Governors who work together to achieve our Trust vision ‘to deliver exceptional learning experiences that enable all young people to thrive in a competitive world and lead successful and fulfilling lives’. If you feel you would like to be a part of that team and could make a valuable contribution to driving standards and performance to the next level, we would like to hear from you.

We will then contact you to arrange a meeting with our Leaders to discuss the role in further detail.

Maltby Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post involves working with children and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at an enhanced level.
