Wivey Link is a community transport charity created to combat rural isolation. We deliver essential services that keep older, disabled, and isolated people connected to healthcare, education, employment, and their communities.
Location: Wiveliscombe House, 3 The Square, Wiveliscombe, Taunton TA4 2JT, UK
Target groups: community & family, older people, people with disabilities.
Wivey Link is seeking a motivated individual with experience in vehicle and fleet maintenance to support our community transport fleet.
Wivey Link has a fleet of five accessible vehicles located in Wiveliscombe and used by our volunteer drivers to transport our members on weekdays.
We are looking for someone available to commit a few hours a week to check the cars for oil, ensure they are topped up with windscreen wash and AdBlue, verify tyre tread, and report any damage or dirt that needs to be rectified.
If mechanical work is required, we work with a local mechanic. This role is for someone with an interest in cars to keep an eye on them weekly so we can book them in if needed and prevent drivers from traveling in vehicles that are not in tip‑top condition.
You will receive support from the office team and can volunteer around your schedule.
