Job summary

A leading construction engineering firm is seeking an experienced Planning professional to shape the future of tunnelling construction. Candidates should have a relevant degree and expertise in Planning software along with a solid background in construction environments. Responsibilities include preparing schedules, attending project meetings, reviewing work requirements, and monitoring project progress. This role promotes a work environment focused on safety, health, and sustainability, contributing to the company's goals of climate neutrality by 2040.

Qualifications

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Construction / Engineering or appropriate professional qualification.
  • Competence in appropriate Planning software.
  • Experience within appropriate construction environments.
  • Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques.
  • A clear understanding and working knowledge of the commercial and contractual processes within the planning function.
  • Ability to resource and cost load programmes and produce outputs to clearly demonstrate this information to others.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute to project meetings.
  • Undertake site visits to review site progress.
  • Review the Employer’s Requirements, Contract Data and Works Information and highlight any deficiencies/omissions noted.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering, procurement and construction schedules.
  • Contribute to assessment of programme risks and programme risk analysis.
  • Produce reports and programme narratives to the defined project reporting requirements.
  • Prepare short‑term programmes in conjunction with the project team.
  • Provide advice to the project team of when it is likely that there will be delays to the critical path.
