We are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a well established, manufacturing company on the outskirts of Ashford. The successful candidate will plan and coordinate deliveries, manage driver hours and ensure full compliance with transport regulations.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan daily and weekly delivery schedules to optimise vehicle utilisation and use the most efficient routes
  • Allocate work to drivers and manage rotas, ensuring legal drivers' hours and rest breaks are adhered to
  • Monitor compliance with driving licence and vehicle documentation requirements
  • React to operational issues (delays, vehicle breakdowns, traffic) and re‑route as required
  • Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on performance and compliance
  • Liaise with various teams throughout the company
What we're looking for
  • Previous transport planning experience with demonstrable experience planning deliveries
  • Experience managing drivers' hours and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Driving is essential due to the location of the role; hold a full UK driving licence
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills with ability to work under pressure
  • Good IT skills, including experience with route‑planning/TMS software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills
