A leading UK steel stockholder is seeking a Compliance Manager to ensure transport operations meet legal and regulatory standards. This role involves managing compliance, coaching drivers, and enhancing safety processes. Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of UK transport legislation and experience with HGV drivers. Excellent organizational skills and a full UK driving license are essential. Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of UK transport legislation including driver hours, tachograph law, and fleet compliance.
  • Proven background in managing and coaching professional HGV drivers.
  • Experience investigating incidents and analysing root causes.
  • Strong organisational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policy in disciplinary contexts.
  • Proficiency with telematics and AI-based vehicle monitoring systems.
  • Full UK driving license with the ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to transport laws and internal policies.
  • Monitor compliance through Transport Management Systems.
  • Review driver performance and provide necessary feedback.
  • Coach drivers to improve safety and compliance.
  • Audit driver hours to identify anomalies.
  • Support investigations into road incidents.
  • Maintain records of audits and compliance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations for effective compliance.
