Technical Officer

Part of The Norse Group, N-Able specialises in delivering property adaptations and accessibility solutions to support independent living for customers across the UK. Our mission is to keep people safe, comfortable, and confident in their homes.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Disabled Adaptations Technical Officer to join our team, managing and delivering adaptation projects in residential properties. This includes responsibility for surveying, specifying works, coordinating contractors, and signing off completed projects to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and technical standards. This is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As a Technical Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end process of disabled adaptations, ensuring projects meet quality, safety, and customer satisfaction standards. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists, clients, and contractors to provide technical advice and deliver solutions that improve accessibility and independence.

You will also be required to:
  • Conduct property surveys and prepare detailed specifications for adaptation works.
  • Liaise with Occupational Therapists, clients, and contractors to assess feasibility and agree technical solutions.
  • Review pre‑contract documentation, attend pre‑start meetings, and identify potential risks.
  • Monitor site works in line with Contractors’ Method Statements and Health & Safety Plans, issuing progress reports and updates.
  • Carry out snagging inspections, issue Certificates of Completion, and ensure defects are rectified promptly.
  • Manage compliance with CDM regulations and promote safe working practices.
  • Attend contractor performance and stakeholder meetings, resolving issues proactively to minimise complaints.
  • Undertake regular site visits and maintain accurate records of all projects delivered by N‑Able.
  • Perform additional duties appropriate to the role and grade.

  • Ability to manage schedules and ensure compliance with technical standards.
