A local educational institution in Aylesford is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with Down’s Syndrome. This part-time role requires someone passionate about inclusive education to work closely with teachers and specialists. Candidates should be adaptable, experienced with children, and ready to engage in professional development. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential. This position is for 32.5 hours per week during term time.

Valley Invicta Academies Trust is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at our primary school in Aylesford.
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience (personally or professionally) or a passion for inclusive education and supporting children with SEND to work within a collaborative team approach to provide dedicated support to a pupil with Down’s Syndrome.
You will be working closely not only with the in‑school team of teacher and SENCO as well as the Trust Director of SEND, but also will have a unique opportunity to work closely with a team of specialist professionals (including Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists) who will be able to provide you with bespoke training, support and strategies/programmes that will be regularly monitored and reviewed by them to support our provision for this pupil.
This will provide wonderful opportunities for professional development for a person who is interested in pursuing a career linked to SEND and Inclusive Education.
You will be required to work 32.5 hours per week for 38 weeks per year. The ideal candidate will be hard‑working, flexible and adaptable, have experience of working within a primary school setting, a passion for inclusive education and meeting the needs of pupils with SEND in positive and inclusive ways, and will have a calm and positive approach to working with children.
