Job Description

To enable the Global Finance Team to enhance its support to the business and operate effectively, the role of Tax and Finance Assistant requires a collaborative and detailed‑oriented finance professional. As Tax and Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the International Tax Manager and the Audit, Compliance and Treasury team. You will be responsible for supporting the Finance team in ensuring accurate tax reporting, tax risk management, compliance with relevant international regulations, and efficient financial operations. This role can be performed remotely within the UK or on a hybrid basis in our Dundee office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other international tax submissions.
  • Support with Transfer Pricing documentation and notifications.
  • Work with tax authorities on tax audits.
  • Business partnering with internal stakeholders globally.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisers as required.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and support compliance efforts.
  • Provide cover for the International Tax Manager as required.
  • Apply Group finance accounting policies and ensure that finance data and processes are optimised.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end financial close processes.
  • Balance Sheet management, including analysis and reconciliation work to comply with annual audit requirements.
  • Assist with Intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles. International experience, particularly the USA, would be beneficial, but is by no means essential.
  • Experience in general ledger and reconciliation work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and ERP Systems (e.g. Microsoft D365).
  • Experience of working with Alvara is also desirable but not essential.
  • Working towards a professional accounting or tax qualification.
  • You will be interested in continuing your professional development to ensure you are always technically up to date.
  • A proactive thinker who will anticipate issues and solve them before they impact our business.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Takes ownership and accepts accountability.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Knowledge of when to ask for assistance.
  • Pro‑active and always prepared to “go the extra mile” in delivering service on time and to the highest standard.
