Job Title: System Analyst – People Operations (2 Year Fixed Term contract)

This role provides a unique opportunity to play a central part in scaling and modernising our HR technology landscape. You’ll join a collaborative, inclusive team that values innovation and meaningful impact.

As the System Analyst – People Operations, you will act as the business system owner for all HR and people-related platforms, ensuring they are effectively utilised, properly configured, and aligned with organisational needs. Your work will span system administration, process optimisation, user support, and adoption, while partnering closely with the College’s Digital Solutions and IT teams on technical architecture, integrations, and enterprise data requirements.

Serving as a critical link between People Operations and the College’s central digital and data functions, this role ensures our HR systems enable efficient, compliant, and intuitive ways of working.

About the Role:
  • Analyse and document current recruitment, HR, and payroll processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
  • Work with People Operations teams to translate business needs into system configurations.
  • Work in structured partnership with the Digital Solutions and IT teams on system integrations, data models & reporting structures and security & infrastructure decisions
  • Act as the People Operations business lead for the HR system implementation including supporting data cleansing and validation, participating in data migration testing and supporting configuration testing.
  • Provide first-line system support within People Operations.
  • Maintain system configuration including workflows, forms, fields, and business rules.
  • Provide support with other related tasks within the People Operations team as needed, assisting with day-to-day activities as directed by the college.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact within the People Operations team for HR system-related queries, improvements, and reporting.
  • Continuously develop and update professional expertise in relevant HR systems and technology.
  • Promote and adhere to the College’s policies on Safeguarding, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, College Values, and Health & Safety.
  • Provide general support to the People Operations team, assisting with day-to-day administrative and operational tasks as required.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. (Desirable)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, Workday Pro, PMP) (Desirable)
Experience:
  • Hands‑on experience implementing, configuring, and maintaining HRIS platforms.
  • Supporting upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
  • Experience with system implementation, integration, upgrades, and data migration.
  • Experience integrating payroll software with HRIS or finance systems.
  • Creating custom reports and dashboards for HR metrics (e.g., turnover, headcount, time‑to‑hire).
  • Supporting transitions between legacy systems and new HR platforms.
