Position Summary

This is a full-time Crew Chief position based in our offices in Saginaw, St. Johns, East Lansing, Byron Center, Bingham Farms, Standish, Manistee, or Georgia. The Crew Chief will plan and evaluate field survey projects, manage survey teams, and coordinate design survey work, construction staking, and other complex surveying tasks.

Typical Day on the Job
  • Participate in pre-survey planning meetings
  • Gather survey data using conventional methods and GNSS
  • Operate survey equipment to measure distances, elevations, and angles
  • Prepare field notes and drawings, maintain data records
  • Conduct various survey activities including construction layout, mapping, and utility inventories
  • Support LiDAR, UAV, and bathymetric projects across the US
  • Perform calculations and analyze raw data for accuracy
  • Manage survey equipment and vehicle maintenance
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in surveying with summer co-op experience OR 4+ years as an independent crew chief
  • Eager to work hard and be part of a high-performance team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willing to travel approximately 25% of the time
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
