JobDescription:

Asa Deputy Manager, you’ll be based within the head office to supportthe Outreach and Supported Living Manager in the provision of astable, structured, and therapeutic environment for our SupportedLiving service. You will work closely with the Outreach andSupported Living Director, Team Manager and Supported Living/Outreach Support Workers to ensure that they work closely with thechildren and young people accessing the service, who they support,ensuring all team members are nurturing, listening, and encouraging.The Supported Living service is designed specifically to providesemi-independent living support to young people aged 16 years andover and may include Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC).You will ensure that the values of organization are embodied,ensuring the effective implementation of care plans andperson-centred care, as well as taking a lead role in developing andupdating the key documents, whilst role modelling and supportingcolleagues. It is essential that you are a supportive, driven personwho displays patience, kindness, and leadership skills that enableyou to role model a passion for empowering young people to achivetheir full potential.

Youwill be expected to support in covering shortfalls alongside theOutreach and Supported Living Manager and Deputy OutreachManager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Shareand always embody the company ethos and values in yourpractice
  • Supportthe manager in practices that promote the individuals' careplans. These should reflect their wishes and changing needsincluding communication and independence skills.
  • Toprovide support and guidance on young person focused practiceslending to nurture the road to independent living, such as exploringsuitable college courses, management of personal finances, shopping,meal preparation, effective cleaning, laundry, exploring hobbies andinterests to include expanding social skills etc.
  • Tosupport the service users in an appropriate professional manner inall aspects of their lives, be this personally, emotionally,physically, socially, or vocationally.
  • Tosupport people to maintain relationships with their family andfriends.
  • Tounderstand and respect things which are important to service usersand colleagues.
  • Toencourage service users to make choices and decisions for themselvesand support them to do new things in a way that keeps them safe butdoes not allow concerns about safety to stop them doing the thingsthey want to do.
  • Tobe flexible in your approach and work for the benefit of the serviceusers and colleagues
  • Towork sleep shifts or waking nights if required to do so.
  • Bea good role model for the staff team at all times.
  • Ensurethe staff team are supported, mentored, and receive the highestquality of supervision and coaching where appropriate.
  • Undertakeall duties of your role with due diligence and pride.
  • Beresponsible and accountable for the young people’s safety andwell-being at all times; ensuring that their best interests arealways promoted.
  • Assistwith supervisions.
  • Ensuringthe service is compliant with Health & Safety.
  • Ensurethat budgets are kept to and monitored.
  • Ensureteam members are recording mileage and submitting timesheets andexpenses on time.
  • Takeresponsibility for ensuring that all identified tasks are completedin a timely and efficient manner.

This roleis subject to the successful applicant having an enhanced DBScheck for child and adult workforce with barred listchecks.
