Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Street Works Coordinator to manage and create permit applications in compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act 2004. You will be joining OCU Group on a fixed Term Contract to cover Maternity leave, based out of our Borehamwood office.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring works are planned, coordinated, and delivered efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with local authorities, internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparation, submission and management of Permit applications in compliance with current legislation
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies
  • Monitor client systems to deliver client specific requirements if required.
  • Communicate with operational staff to identify critical areas of client delivery.
  • Receive and record data onto work management systems.
  • Supply updates to clients in various forms of communication to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Update management systems within specified timescales and deliverables within the contract requirements.
  • Liaise with operational teams to ensure all projects have the appropriate permits in place for works to begin.
  • Provide timely updates and reports to management on permit status and works progress
Skills and Experience
  • Strong team player but also able to work as an individual.
  • Previous experience within a similar role in the Utilities industry
  • Proficient in the use of Street Manager is desirable
  • Understanding of NRSWA compliance procedures.
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines.
  • Able to work in a busy environment under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face).
  • Possess a “can do” attitude and provide to support to other members of the team as required.
  • Confident in the use of MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and Outlook
  • Data reporting experience is desirable
