Purpose of the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to join our Battery Management System (BMS) development team. This role is focused on defining and evolving the software architecture for AUTOSAR Classic platforms in high-voltage automotive applications. The successful candidate will provide architectural leadership across requirements, design, and analysis, ensuring robust, scalable, and compliant solutions. This is a hybrid working role based in our Coventry office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and evolve software architecture for AUTOSAR Classic BMS platforms.
  • Analyse architectural trade-offs, performance, and safety implications using structured methods and simulation/analysis approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
  • Guide development and test teams in implementing robust, scalable solutions.
  • Integrate safety and cybersecurity concepts into architectural design decisions.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, and test teams to guide implementation in line with the approved architecture.
  • Conduct design reviews, identify risks, and support technical problem solving throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Proven experience in automotive software architecture and embedded systems.
  • Strong knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic (SWCs, RTE, BSW).
  • Hands-on experience with ASPICE, functional safety and cybersecurity.
  • Skilled in architecture analysis, modelling, and communication of technical decisions.
  • Background in BMS or other safety-critical ECUs desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to present and defend architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
