Job description
Overview

Are you a skilled Best Interest Assessor ready to join a dynamic team? This is a 4-week locum opportunity with Telford & Wrekin Council starting in October 2025. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a flexible hybrid structure (office, home, and client locations). The rate is £33.33 per hour. You will transfer 77 clients from Appointee to Deputyship. A driving licence and car are essential for this role as meetings with clients will be held in Telford and nearby areas.

Responsibilities
  • Meet clients in their respective locations to assess their current needs
  • Prepare new COP3 reports associated with each client’s requirements
  • Prioritise the transition of 34 selected clients during the first two weeks
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure accurate information is copied from previous mental capacity assessments
  • Guide clients and their families through the process, ensuring a smooth transition
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of each case for audit and reporting purposes
