Job summary

A community service organization in Dundee is seeking a Casual Social Care Officer to assist in providing a nurturing environment for children and young people. Responsibilities include facilitating care plans, supporting children's needs, and working a rota schedule which involves night shifts. Ideal candidates will have qualifications equivalent to 3 National 4s, experience in child care, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to undertake HNC and SVQ3 or any other relevant qualification equivalent to SCQF Level 7.
• Experience working with children and young people with disabilities including close personal care.
• Understanding of young people's needs and issues affecting them.

On a daily basis you need to facilitate their care plans and offer them the necessary support and encouragement to help them reach their potential.You will have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience of working effectively in a team.You will be able to undertake CALM and moving and handling procedures where required, be self-reliant, motivated and committed to high standards of care for children and young people.You must be able to work as part of a rota which involves waking nights.You will be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timescale.This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
