The Role

We're seeking an experienced Service & Installation Engineer to join a skilled service and maintenance team supporting commercial kitchens across Kent.
You'll take responsibility for the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of professional catering equipment from leading manufacturers. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer who values quality workmanship, independence, and local work without excessive travel.

Key Responsibilities

Install, commission, and service commercial catering equipment in line with manufacturer standards and safety regulations.

Diagnose faults and complete planned maintenance and emergency repairs, ensuring reliable, high-quality service.

Conduct site surveys and liaise with customers, explaining work completed, identifying installation requirements, and offering basic equipment training.

Maintain accurate service records, manage tools and parts effectively, and plan your schedule efficiently to deliver excellent service across the region.

Full UK driving licence (clean and valid) with willingness to travel locally for service jobs

Proven experience (ideally 2+ years) as an engineer working with commercial catering, hospitality, or heavy-duty kitchen equipment

Technical competence in electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, or gas systems (or a combination of these disciplines) relevant to commercial kitchen equipment

Electrical safety qualification

Professional, customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

Multi-skilled experience covering electric cooking and/or refrigeration

Gas Safe registration

F-Gas certification

Additional cards/certifications: CSCS, IPAF, PASMA

Experience with premium brands such as Rational, Hobart, Blue Seal, Hoshizaki, etc.
