We have an exceptional team across hardware and software capable of bringing about this change, and we are growing fast to meet demand and deliver our product at scale.

We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Procurement Engineer based in the UK to lead technically informed sourcing and supplier engagement for electronics and electronic components. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, ensuring that component and manufacturing sourcing decisions are optimised for cost, availability, quality, and long-term scalability.

The ideal candidate brings strong electronics knowledge, hands‑on experience with suppliers and EMS partners, and the ability to influence design and sourcing decisions early in the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead sourcing and procurement activities for electronic components (ICs, passives, PCBs, connectors, electromechanical parts) and EMS/CM services
  • Provide technical input into sourcing decisions, supplier selection, and component qualification
  • Own RFQs, cost breakdowns, and technical-commercial evaluations
  • Drive should‑cost modelling and cost‑down initiatives
Supplier & Manufacturing Partner Engagement
  • Act as the technical procurement interface to component manufacturers, distributors, and EMS/CM partners
  • Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, lead times, MOQs, capacity commitments, and technical constraints
  • Support supplier audits, capability assessments, and qualification activities
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve technical, quality, or supply issues
NPI & Product Lifecycle Support
  • Support NPI sourcing from concept through production, including BOM cost roll‑ups and sourcing readiness
  • Partner with design engineering to influence component selection for availability, lifecycle, and risk
  • Manage PCNs, EOLs, and last‑time‑buy strategies in collaboration with engineering and operations
  • Support ECO implementation and component transitions
Supply Risk & Continuity Management
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to single‑source components, long lead times, and constrained supply
  • Develop alternate sourcing and dual‑source strategies
  • Support buffer strategies and supply continuity planning
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Reporting
  • Partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, finance, and programme teams
  • Provide clear reporting on cost, supplier performance, supply risks, and mitigation plans
  • Mentor junior procurement or supply chain engineers as required
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical field
  • At least 8 years of experience in electronics procurement, supply chain engineering, or manufacturing sourcing
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, EMS/CM operations, and global electronics supply chains
  • Proven experience managing technically complex sourcing and supplier negotiations
  • Strong technical judgement applied to sourcing and procurement decisions
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Analytical mindset with experience in cost modelling and BOM analysis
  • Ability to influence engineering and operations without direct authority
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel
Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)
  • Familiarity with global component distributors and allocation management
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance‑driven environments
