What you will do:

  • Manage complex caseloads with a focus on high-risk situations, including safeguarding, mental capacity, hospital discharges, and court work.
  • Undertake statutory assessments by completing Care Act assessments, support planning, and reviews using a strengths-based, person-centred approach.
  • Lead and coordinate adult safeguarding enquiries in accordance with Section 42 of the Care Act 2014.
  • Apply legal frameworks by conducting Mental Capacity Act assessments and Best Interests decisions; ensure compliance with relevant legislation including DoLS.
  • Provide professional support by mentoring less experienced staff and newly qualified social workers; contribute to team development.
  • Engage in multi-agency working, collaborating with health, housing, voluntary sector, and other professionals to deliver coordinated care.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and record-keeping, producing clear, evidence-based reports, including those for legal proceedings.
  • Contribute to service improvement by engaging in service planning, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
