Job Details

Grade C – £34,890 (National) or £40,746 (London – for London office based or home-based workers within the boundary of the M25). Additional homeworking allowance of £600 per annum for those working from home. For part time roles – pro rata. Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week. Job-share will be considered. Talk to us about compressed hours. Contract Type: Fixed Term/Secondment for 12 months. Closing date: Thursday 29 January 2026 at 11.59pm.

As a Senior Project Support Officer, you will be pivotal in supporting the delivery of programmes and projects which are aimed at the optimising the way in which CQC regulates.

Imagine playing an important role in supporting the team to promote and deliver a wide range of changes that are both diverse and complex in nature. This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously, take responsibility for discrete tasks and therefore provides a good basis for development. In the last year a Senior Project Support Officer within Performance and Delivery, you might have:

  • Implemented and maintained appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling of the project.
  • Prepared project performance reports, presenting statistics and researching new information.
The role

You’ll be key in helping us deliver our work. In this role you’ll:

  • Deliver programmes and projects: Working across the organisation to drive priorities and standards aimed at optimising the way in which CQC regulates.
  • Monitor compliance: Manage and monitor the compliance of projects with the relevant organisational policies, ensuring documentation remains up to date.
  • Manage key relationships: Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact for some external parties.

We’ll be looking for the following skills, knowledge and experience in your application form:

  • Relevant experience: Demonstrate your knowledge, experience and understanding of project and programme methodologies (e.g. PRINCE 2, MSP, AGILE).
  • Understanding the role: Show your experience of working on programmes or projects with a good understanding of role responsibilities in this context.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement: Evidence your ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
