Job Opportunity: Locum Social Work Advanced Practitioner – Duty Team in Wigan, earning £40 hourly for a 3-month assignment.

You will become a pivotal part of Wigan’s supportive network of five duty teams and a Duty Academy. The role involves tackling fast-paced challenges, applying strong analytical skills and creativity to provide expert assessments and immediate support where it’s most needed.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct timely and comprehensive assessments of families, identifying needs and determining appropriate interventions.
  • Work collaboratively within a team that includes a Team Manager, Senior Social Workers, and other Social Workers to carry out duty functions weekly on a rotational basis.
  • Engage families from the initial point of contact, offering assessment and intervention in a variety of situations.
  • Empower children and families by fostering sustainable solutions and facilitating transitions to the most appropriate teams for long-term support.
  • Assess and manage potential risks using strong analytical skills to develop strategic solutions.
Qualifications and Experience

Experience as a Social Worker in the UK and current eligible status are required to perform duties within the social care framework. The role requires working within the Duty Team structure, with capacity to respond to fast-paced, complex cases.
