A Scottish NHS organization is seeking a Senior Pharmacist for a clinical role at University Hospital Crosshouse. This position involves providing a specialized clinical pharmacy service, participating in multidisciplinary ward rounds, and ensuring safe medicine prescribing. The ideal candidate must have a Master of Pharmacy degree and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. This full-time position includes working 37 hours per week, with participation in weekends and holidays required.

Senior Pharmacist – Clinical / Dispensary based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to patients accessing care within the medical specialties at University Hospital Crosshouse, particularly high care areas such as the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit, Medical High Dependency Unit, and Acute Coronary Care Unit. The post holder will participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and work closely with the clinical team to ensure the safe and effective prescribing of medicines to inpatients within medical wards. Additionally, this post provides an essential service to the hospital pharmacy dispensary to ensure that prescriptions are safe, clinically appropriate and processed efficiently within the department.
The post holder must have a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent and be registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Applicants should have completed the Post-registration Foundation Programme for Pharmacists (or have demonstrable evidence of clinical knowledge equivalent to that level). Applicants not currently holding a practice prescribing certificate will be supported to complete this.
37 hours per week. You will participate in weekend, public holiday and extended hours as required. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day.
A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
