About the Role

Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer – Cardiff office

Join our new City Centre office during a pivotal time in Hoare Lea’s Cardiff journey. You will work in a talented, diverse team on national and international schemes, delivering high‑standard designs while fostering technical growth and securing new business.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day technical delivery of electrical design services for multidisciplinary projects across multiple building sectors.
• Develop initial strategic concepts, ensuring solutions meet brief and regulatory standards.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating clear and timely communication of brief updates.
• Collaborate with the team leader to monitor fee expenditure, resource allocation and work delivery.
• Mentor and support next‑gen professionals, including apprentices and graduates.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or closely related role on complex projects.
• Familiarity with modern delivery processes and tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux.
• Experience in client‑, contractor‑, and architect‑focused, design‑oriented consulting roles.
• Self‑awareness, open mind, and generosity.
• Track record of supporting others in developing knowledge, skills, and confidence.
